In the novel, there are many characters mentioned. Although i focused on Hazel-Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters, there are more minority characters. The two I focused on the most were, I thought, most necessary. Below are the characters Hazel, Augustus, Isaac, Lidewjj, Mrs. Lancaster and Peter Van Houten. She lives with a terminal form of thyroid cancer that has spread to her lungs. She is forced to carry around an oxygen tank.

Hazel Grace thinks deeply about life and death. She says it how it is. She knows what she is going through and it doesn't stop her from living her life, for the most part.

Hazel is forced by her mother to attend a support group. She refers to this as the worst part of having cancer.

Hazel meets the handsome guy, Augustus Waters. They meet at the selected support group where they talk about what they're going through and give each other updates.

He is a cancer survivor. In result of his cancer, he lost one leg. One of his legs is real and one is artifical. he is insecure about this.

Augustus is respectful. He always compliments Hazel-Grace and often says intellectual things towards her. He is respectful towards everyone and anyone who deserves it.
