SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TITLE

The title of '' The Fault In Our Stars '' has a certain significance. The title comes from a line in Shakespeare's play '' Julius Ceaser '' where Casius says: ' The fault, dear Brutus is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings. ' This shows that the significance of the title is relatively deep. John Green means to show that sometimes, it isn't your fault. That sometimes events just happen that can not be avoided. Hazel nor Augustus could avoid the cancer that happened to them.

WHAT IS OKAY?

In the novel '' The Fault In Our Stars '', Isaac and his girlfriend Monica have a thing. They always say '' always ''. Meaning they will always love each other and they will always be together and what not. In a phone call between Hazel and Augustus, they repeat the word '' okay '' out of silence and awkwardness. Augustus then says '' Maybe okay will be out always '' and Hazel replies with '' Okay.''
